Goodness, it really has been a week for finishing things, hasn't it?!
I finally got myself sorted and made Mélanie's lovely first block design for our Curiouser and Curiouser QAL. I'm really enjoying my colour choices - I hope it will all look just as nice once the blocks are sewn together! The green flowers are from a fat quarter I've had in my stash for far too long. It is finally the perfect colour to be used. Isn't it funny how fabrics can do that? You love them, but they don't quite go with anything else... And then shazzam, they are the perfect thing months and even years later!
Being the first block, it was very straightforward and was just what I needed after the miles of binding last week! Mélanie is publishing the third block design over on her blog today, so do hop over and check it out.
The other project that is so nearly done that I'm going to call it done, is a stocking for my nephew for Christmas. As he is only 6 months old, I'm pretty sure that he doesn't read my blog, and therefore it won't spoil the surprise.
The eagle-eyed among you will spot that the only thing remaining to be done is... yes, you guessed it! The binding needs sewing down at the top. :-D I think I can safely leave that for another week or so, until the memory of 19m has faded somewhat. Hopefully this will last him a good few years.

i finally cut the pieces for my all three blocks today! i dithered a bit over combinations of fabrics but i'll be very glad to catch up and get over to the flickr group to see everyone elses too!
