I have missed the wedding by a few weeks, but the newly-wed quilt is finally finished and sent off.
It's a very simple design, and it just makes the best of the fact that the charm packs were so cute. I used two different packs, a Fig and Plum set and a William Morris pack, both from Moda. They are old packs, so probably not easily available any more. Mine were purchased at Country Threads in Bath, and the rest of the fabrics came from Millie Moon in Frome.
I tried to arrange the colours in order, building to the centre.
I'm really hoping that the newly-weds will be pleased with it. There were a few stumbling blocks along the path of this quilt, but I couldn't be happier with the finished bedspread. I hope it will go well in their home.
A little tag to show the homemade love.
I added some "Made with love" ribbon to the back of the quilt. It's the first time I've added anything to personalise a project, but I was really pleased with how it looks. I'm working up to embroidering a little message on a future project, but I'm not sure I'm confident enough yet!
I've got a few baby quilts to make, so maybe I'll get some courage ready for my nephew's blankie.
