I have added a few more patterns to my Ravelry Shop: Jen Arnall-Culliford Designs and to celebrate, there's a discount offer at the end of this blog post! I've also tidied up my Patterns page and made sure it's up to date with all of my designs that you can download from Ravelry.
Cowl and Mitts
You will now find my matching Cowl and Fingerless Mitts set available: Brympton (I'm keeping with my Somerset village names!)
Jim and I had a giggle out shooting this set...
I'm practising peek-a-boo or something...
And the pictures got slightly more mad as the series went along!
I can see you!!
Ahem.
The set uses just 1 skein of DK yarn for both Mitts and Cowl. Mine were knitted with some Natural Dye Studio Queenie's Love DK, which is now sadly discontinued, but fear not, because Juno Fibre Arts Pearl and Posh Yarns Francesca are also excellent substitutes, and many other DK yarns would also work well. Both mitts and cowl are knitted in the round and the lace pattern would be good for a new knitter (or someone new to lace). They cost £2.75 and for that you get both patterns: or Add Brympton to cart
Baby Blanket
I've also made my Holton Baby Blanket available. I knitted this for my nephew, using Shilasdair 4ply and his parents used it for him all the time when he was little.
The centre is worked in garter stitch - great TV knitting! And the edging is worked separately and sewn on at the end. The lace pattern is given in both written and charted forms, and there are a few suggestions for alternative yarns if you want something that's a little more affordable or machine washable.
I love the edging lace pattern - it makes me think of waves on a beach! Again, this pattern would be great for a newer knitter. You can purchase the pattern for £2.50: or Add Holton Blanket to cart
Socks
Finally, there are some socks: Porlock Socks. I designed these for Jim, and was inspired by fishermen's ganseys. The stitch patterns are simple but effective, and you have the option to add an initial on the foot to customise them.
The socks are worked cuff-down using 2 skeins of Colinette Jitterbug. Jim has been wearing his constantly for 18 months and they still look just like new. A good sign in a sock yarn!
I used a garter stitch rib at the cuff, which is nice to knit as you get a rest knit round between the rounds of K1, P1. The foot is plain stocking stitch apart from the initial in the toe.
These have Js for Jim, and charts are included for all possible letters.
The pattern costs £3.00: or Add Porlock Socks to cart

To celebrate having got a few more patterns up and available on Ravelry, I've set up a promotion for you all.
