I finished this lovely hat back at New Year, but it has taken me a while to persuade anyone to stand still long enough for a photo! I finally tied them down, but the morning light was very blue, so I'm afraid that the colour of this gorgeous Knit by Numbers yarn really does look a washed out version of itself.
I had a go at playing with the colours in PhotoShop, but I'm a complete novice, and I've not done it justice. The hat was lovely to knit - as all of Woolly Wormhead's patterns are. I got into a good rhythm of, "I'll just finish this repeat"! Which always makes a project go faster, doesn't it?
It was a great match of yarn and pattern - the cable really work well in this yarn, and it's bouncy enough to even up brilliantly once it's blocked. I'm not the neatest cabler ever, as I tend to get a baggy stitch when I move from knit to purl, so I always need a springy wool to compensate for this.
Sadly the hat has barely been worn, as it's a little bit snug, and its recipient is more sensitive to wool than I'd realised. Boo! Never mind, I'm sure it will find a new home if it's a total no-wear. I think I'll go back to knitting for Jim & I for a while...
I just have one pocket to do on my Pippin sweater, so that should soon be done too!
